Background
The Rigby Badgers are a new high school aged club lacrosse team made up of players from around Rigby, Idaho. They needed an identity for this new team and wanted something modern built around the values of focus, intensity, and intentionality.
Initial Sketches
The Rigby Badgers wanted to incorporate a badgers head as the primary logo mark. Prior to making any logos, I sketched out several badgers from reference pictures on the iPad using Procreate. Then I recreated them in Adobe Illustrator as vector images.
Next I worked on tying in their core values into a logo concept. The Rigby Badgers values include: intensity, focus, dedication, loyalty, pride, and empowerment.
I created three distinct logo concepts showcasing the badger head and name. They wanted to include a tropical/neon pink as a primary color. Each concept was built out in black and white and full color.

After presenting all three options, they decided to go with this version which is the cleanest and simplest of the three designs. This design showcases the team’s focus and dedication to the sport. The snarling badger head uses clean bold lines with sharp angles to capture the team’s intensity while the two-toned name with tall lettering and beveled edges shows a refined and sophisticated power.
